New from the Lab

The SpoolFlex V4 eMail is greatly improved (actual re-write/replacement of the V3 eMail).
Improvements in Version4 eMail:

  • There is no charge for the new V4 eMail
  • No longer uses the IBM Distribution Directory, SMTP or MSF
  • No longer have to enter users into the Distribution Directory before they can send eMails. “From Email” information now comes from user defaults or SpoolFlex address book
  • Configuration is much easier. It is a simple two step process
  • The attachment names can now be up to 128 characters long and can have embedded blanks
  • You can specify any From Name and From eMail address when sending an eMail
Example: You can have a Report Distribution send out eMails from an accounting eMail address
  • You can send multiple attachments with a single eMail by using the new SFAEML API
  • You can specify an eMail Sensitivity (Normal, Personal, Private, Confidential) (same as you can in the Outlook)
  • You can request a Read Receipt when sending an eMail
  • You can send multiple spooled files (attachments) with a single eMail from the Manage Spool File menu

Additional features coming soon to the V4 eMail

  • Report Distribution will be able to send multiple attachments to a single eMail recipient
  • Audit Trail will allow Re-Sending eMails with multiple attachments to the same recipient
  • E-mail message will allow you to specify /N to force a new line
