Update Instructions Follow these instructions to upgrade SpoolFlex/FormFlex software

We have a lot of news coming from the lab.

PDF Enhancements:
Several new options have been added to the PDF Setup settings for specifying some initial view options when the PDF file is opened.

• Option to set the initial view percentage
• Option to set Fit to Page value (*HEIGHT, *WIDTH or *WINDOW)
• Option to set Page Display (Single Page, Single Page Continuous, Two Up, Two Up Continuous)

Also added the ability to add a text string to the PDF file as the spooled file is converted to PDF.

Support for USPS Intelligent Barcode:
Added support in FormFlex for the new USPS Intelligent Mail barcode which is scheduled to replace the POSTNET barcode in May of 2009.

Report Distribution accesses customers database to retrieve e-mail addresses:
Added the option to retrieve e-mail addresses from your database files eliminating the need to store the e-mail addresses in our Address Books as they are already stored in your own database files. (Note: Currently there are some limitations with this feature, please call our support team at (678) 417-1521 or e-mail support@drvtech.com for more information if you think this is something you would like to start using.

Customer running IBM OS V4R4 or V4R5 get Bailout!
Our developers made a new version of all DRV products (SpoolFlex, FormFlex, eSign, ReportFlex) that will run on IBM V4R4 and V4R5. (Note: There are some slight limitations. Our new V4 e-mail is not included. Support for the USPS Intelligent Mail barcode is not included.)

New DataFlex Product:
It was announced last month that we were working on a new product DataFlex that is similar to SpoolFlex, except that DataFlex will convert your database files to Excel or PDF rather than your spooled files. We have received offers from some of our customers with regards to being involved with the testing and/or giving feedback prior to the initial release. We should have contacted everyone by now. If you have not been contacted, please e-mail our support team. If you missed the initial announcement and would like to be involved in the initial testing, please e-mail our tech support team. In the next week or so, we are planning to schedule a webcast to show what the initial DataFlex v1.0 will look like and what it will be able to do.

Answers to your Questions

• I am converting files to a Windows file server. Is there an easy way than typing out the full /QNTC/SERVER1/CDRIVE share name in each definition?
  Yes, we have something that’s called Path Definition. You can create an alias for a path, so instead of full QNTC name, you call something like CDRIVE for your directory and it will auto-populate the full path from the path definition.
   
• I am creating a check form in which I want to print an electronic signature. In FormFlex, is there a way to print signature for a certain amount only?
  FormFlex allows you to print signature conditionally. For example, if you do not want the signature to print on checks that have amount more than $5,000, you can apply condition on that signature.
