The 20th annual Northeast User Groups conference will be held on April 12th, 13th and 14th, 2010 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel in Framingham, MA.
The eight user groups of the Northeast, from the states of CT, ME, MA, NH, NY, RI, and VT have joined together to host a yearly IBM Power Systems technical conference in Framingham, MA. Each conference is held yearly, in early spring, and consists of approximately 100 sessions, 20 speakers (from both IBM and the i community), hundreds of attendees, and over 20 vendor sponsors. The conference covers a variety of technical subjects and may include seminars, workshops, and hands on labs.

Dropping support for IBM Operating System version V4R5 as of June 30th 2010
It has been 7 years since IBM dropped support for V4R5, and we have held on as long as we could. With the release of IBM 7.1 next month, we would be required to purchase a new machine in order to continue to support our customers still running on V4R5.
As of July 1, 2010, you will still be able to call in with questions or request assistance. However, we will not be able to make any program changes.

Any questions can be directed to our support team at support@drvtech.com

Thank you for understanding.

New-and-improved Audit Trail!
If you already own the SpoolFlex add-on module, Audit Trail, or have considered it in the past, we suggest you take a look at the most recent enhancements that have been made. With these additions, you will have the ability to define Index Definitions for use with the Audit Trail (e-filing). Within the Index Definitions, you can define up to 10 indexes (see Figure 1) that will be extracted from the spooled file and stored in the Audit Trail.

Figure 1:

The Audit Trail inquiry program has been enhanced to allow searches based on any of the additional 10 index values.

Quickly find specific documents (or all documents) for a specific customer, date, etc.

During the month of March, we will be holding an online training session specific to the Audit Trail enhancements. If you would like to be notified when this training session is scheduled, contact our support team.

 Answers to Your Questions

Q: I am creating a form using FormFlex. How do I add a logo to a form?
A: There are three steps. First, convert an image to PCL format. Second, import an image into FormFlex. (You will need to map a drive to DRV directory on IFS.) In the FormFlex main menu select option 20=Setup/Maintenance Menu, then select option 19=Work With Images and use F6 to import an image. Finally, place that image in your form.

Tips for FormFlex users:
To keep the User ID of the original SCS file after merging it with the form that creates an ASC file, use these parameters: NEWSPLUSI(*SPLUSI).
For example: FFAEDOC EDOCNM('AK TEST') NEWSPLUSI(*SPLUSI). This command creates ASC files that have User Id from the original SCS spooled file.

Tips for SpoolFlex users:
In the new version of e-mail, you can have up to 128 characters in the file attachment name. SpoolFlex supports 128 characters in the folder name.
