Update Instructions Follow instructions to upgrade your SpoolFlex/FormFlex software.
DRV's newest product, MessageFlex, has been released from Beta status and is now ready for prime time. After announcing MessageFlex, we received fantastic feedback for enhancements. In response, we have already improved its initial release features. One of the improvements, MessageFlex, monitors message queues and automatically sends notifications to individuals when error conditions are encountered. That means no more coming into the office to a full voicemail box, line of people at your office door, or incomplete backups because an error occurred during the night with no one monitoring the message!
MessageFlex now gives companies the ability to:
n Send notification based on the message's ID, Message Text, Severity level, or Message Type
n Send notification via e-mail, text message to your mobile phone, or forward the message to another message queue
n Attach a document (example: How to fix) to the e-mail notification
n Optionally send a different notification depending on the job the message is generated from
n Send a notification to an individual or to a group
n Monitor continuously unattended 24 x 7
With many companies facing leaner staffs during challenging economic times, MessageFlex is a standalone product that pays for itself by preventing incidences of downtime with automated monitoring. At just $2,995, MessageFlex is a real bargain compared to other monitoring solutions available for the IBM System i. For a limited time, we have extended introductory pricing of just $1,750 to our valued customers who submit an order by July 31, 2010. That's over 40% off! | Electronic Forms Software - Anchors away! |
Are you still printing on pre-printed forms? Do you still have impact printers and bursters?
Are you still printing overlays using AFP or IPDS printers?
Are you printing electronic forms or checks using archaic 3rd party software?
Many of our customers have made the switch from pre-printed forms to crisp clean electronic forms that print on HP-compatible laser printers, but some are still printing on old-fashioned, pre-printed forms using noisy impact printers. Associated distribution and storage costs make this approach obsolete, and an unnecessary boat anchor to efficiency.
DRV’s FormFlex software not only allows you to merge and print electronic forms and checks to inexpensive network laser printers, but also integrates seamlessly with SpoolFlex to allow you to convert merged documents to PDF with dynamic naming to archive and deliver by e-mail and e-fax. The ROI is phenomenal. But don’t take our word for it. Check out these articles in prominent IBM magazines:
IBM Systems Magazine
System iNews magazine
We have received feedback from the field that many of the older 3rd party forms packages are not being updated or enhanced despite hefty maintenance agreements. Some products are becoming obsolete (Create!Print & Optio) because they are not being compiled for the newest versions of the IBM operating system with an expensive upgrade fee. Typically, we can provide a competitive upgrade for a fraction of that upgrade fee with FormFlex and add functionality like emailing and archiving.
If you can reduce costs by moving away from archaic forms management into the 21st century, the solution will pay for itself in a few months. After that, the savings go straight to your bottom line.
Chances are you’re too busy with other projects right now. If those projects carry as strong as ROI as electronic forms, good for you. Call us when you wrap up. If not, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate those priorities.
Give us a call and see what we can do for your electronic forms management. Even if you already have a solution in place, we will make it more efficient. We will provide you with more functionality and lower annual maintenance.

| Answers to Your Questions and User Tips |
Q: Can I override the drawer that FormFlex prints from "on the fly", or do I need multiple forms?
A: You can specify the source drawer in the FFAEDOC command from your sentry or from the command itself if you run it manually from a CL.
Q: Is there a way to strip the blank lines out of my excel file?
A: In the XLS definition, you can specify to remove the blanks from the detail lines or from all of the lines in the file. This option is available from our "Include/Exclude" screen under "F-8 More Options".
Q: I'm trying to use SFACOPY to convert a file, but I need to pass more specific information about the spoolfile. Can I do that?
A: Yes. You can either use a SFS and set it up for the parameters you need or you can use our "B" command/api's and pass the information straight to the command. SFACOPY = SFBCOPY, FFAEDOC = FFBEDOC, etc. Every command has an equivalent B command except for SFACPYEML.
