Update Instructions Follow these instructions to upgrade SpoolFlex/FormFlex software

E-mail Authentication added to SpoolFlex e-mail

New SMTP Authentication! SpoolFlex and FormFlex now have the ability to send e-mails to a secure mail server! All you need is an SMTP account setup on your mail server with a user name and password. From there you can edit an existing user default profile, or create a new one and on the e-mail option settings you can specify your user name and password below. From then on, anytime you send an e-mail from that profile it will authenticate to your e-mail server.

New SMTP Time-out value! Have a slow internet connection, or does your e-mail server take forever to validate your system when sending an e-mail, ultimately resulting in a timed out e-mail? Well, no longer with our new time-out value. You can configure your e-mail settings in SpoolFlex now to increase the time-out window from a default 60 seconds up to a maximum of 999 seconds to eliminate any time-outs while sending e-mails.

Answers to Your Questions And Tips

• When creating PDF files, etc. on my server the file has the date/time modified 4 hours earlier than the actual time. If I open the file and save as a different name, the new file has the correct time.
  The time is set up wrong on the server and that’s why the date/time of the file is different than the actual creation date/time.
   
• Can SpoolFlex email work with servers that require SMTP authentication?
  Yes! As of version 4.3.2, if you are running OS v5r2 or newer, SpoolFlex can authenticate to any e-mail server.
   
• Can I easily e-mail multiple files to someone in a PDF format?
  Yes, if you are running v4 e-mail, you can place an E next to several spool files in Manage Spooled Files and send them all to one user.
   
• Can I convert a file to a location other than the IFS on my AS/400 / iSeries?
  Yes, you can convert files and place them on either a Windows based file server, or Linux based machine. Contact Tech Support for assistance with these.

This is a short class that is designed for people who already have experience creating output definitions and now would like to learn about the Shift Lines option.
